Organizational Climate Assessment and Intervention Plan
This comprehensive service is implemented with a team of experts in organizational psychiatry, communication, staff training and evaluation research. Collectively, we have worked with several institutions and organizations to assess their organizational climate and devise a plan of action for improvement. From a systems theory perspective, and mixed methods research approach, we will examine areas of concern and work to identify ways each individual contributes to (or detracts from) your organizational climate. These findings will lead to a concrete course of action to address the underlying issues. This includes working to ensure that aspects of each person’s identity (e.g., race, ethnicity, gender) are not only respected, but also valued. Resultantly, when members of your organization are able to operate as their full selves, you will find that they are genuinely invested in their work, more productive, and better able to support your organization’s mission and vision. Many organizations face deeply entrenched interpersonal dynamics and structural issues that can take longer to change (e.g., gas lighting, discriminatory policies). However, efforts to change just one person’s behavior can leave a lasting impact.
Potential activities in an organizational climate assessment and intervention plan include (but are not limited to):
- Interviews and focus groups with members/staff
- Open forum to review results and provide comments
- Development of a targeted plan with concrete deliverables, timeline, and evaluation metrics
- Training and workshops on anti-racism, implicit bias or other relevant topics
- Pre-test/post-test surveys and other methods to measure changes in key attitudes, beliefs, behaviors and practices
When we work together, people in your organization will be able to function as their best, whole selves!
